G2 Ops, a recognized leader in digital engineering and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)-enabled cybersecurity solutions, announced that its mission-informed cyber threat monitoring tool, SOFIA, was recently registered and approved in the Department of the Navy Application and Database Management System (DADMS).
SOFIA – or Strategic Optics for Intelligent Analytics – empowers Navy warfighters with secure-by-design, mission-based cyber resiliency. Unlike traditional cybersecurity tools that focus solely on identifying technical vulnerabilities, SOFIA provides operationally relevant risk scoring by combining MBSE system and mission models with threat intelligence. By automating data retrieval and enriching cyber intelligence with mission context, SOFIA generates actionable insights that enable program managers, engineers, and cybersecurity professionals to assess mission impact, prioritize remediation, and make more informed, risk-based decisions.
DADMS is the authoritative data source for all software, applications, and databases authorized for use within the Department of the Navy (DON) systems. To achieve DADMS approval, a software tool must be sponsored by a DON entity and pass rigorous evaluations confirming its cybersecurity posture, interoperability, and unique operational necessity. Successful DADMS registration confirms that SOFIA is officially authorized for procurement, installation, and deployment across naval enterprise environments.

SOFIA’s addition to DADMS comes one year after it supported a landmark Navy pilot effort that resulted in one of the first major tactical systems securing an Authorization to Operate (ATO) under the Department of the Navy’s Cyber Ready framework.
Together, these milestones mark a critical step in transitioning SOFIA from a successful Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) technology into an operational, enterprise-ready capability supporting the Navy’s defense modernization priorities.
