Digital Twins Key to Cyber Resilient Infrastructure

Digital Twins Key to Cyber Resilient Infrastructure

G2 Ops details how digital modelling can help government agencies achieve cyber resiliency.

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA, December 16, 2022 – Government agencies have been using layer upon layer of cybersecurity to prevent attacks, however these methods often simply generate more surface area for bad actors to attack without providing much defensive cyber utility. Furthermore, relying purely on preventative measures does not contribute to the resiliency of systems following a successful cyber attack. Model-based systems engineering (MBSE) techniques create digital twins of systems of systems (SoS) that model how IT and OT elements interact within an infrastructure. Digital twin models can also pair with cyber threat intelligence databases and attack vector models to simulate how threats can impact the ability of a system or SoS to perform mission-critical operations.
